Today in class we learned about the different type of application formats and how they can be define. For the next 8 weeks my partner and I will be creating our own application that solves some type of problem. By next wednesday we will need to come up with 30 different ideas. From past experiences I know working in groups can be difficult but it also helps make the process easier because you have two people working on an idea and challenging one another to create the best outcome. In my later post I will write down the ideas me and my partner came up with over the weekend.
Also for homework we were required to read "Tarantinoing our first iPhone Application"
Article: The overall article was about 4 men trying to come up with a mobile app called "Lec" that could record lectures and pick out important tags. Students would be able to go back and listen to the important tags instead of listening to the entire lecture again. Their app failed due to not enough prototyping. To complete their project they created a whole new project that could match up time zones. But it wasn't till their second app where they used the concept of tags to snip small information recording in the lectures. From the article they recommend keeping application ideas small and simple and to prototype a lot in order to create the best results.
This article related to the project were starting cause it shows that ideas will fail without planning a lot and the simpler the idea the easier it will be to work around issues that might be faced.
